Where's me noggin?
The Geography of Yorkshire Centre Noggins:
Noggin - is the traditional name used within the MSCC to describe our monthly meetings
The County of Yorkshire is the largest in the UK and as such it was decided many years ago to set up a number of Noggins in different parts of the county to reduce the distance members had to travel to attend a Noggin. Currently we have five Noggins as listed below, although these are located to cover the three ridings and South Yorkshire, this is by no means rigid as members do tend chose the Noggin which either suits best their location or their circle of friends.
North Yorkshire Noggin - covers the Yorkshire Dales in the west across to the North Yorkshire coast via the North Yorkshire Moors including places such as Hawes, Richmond, Northallerton and Whitby in the north to Skipton, Harrogate and Selby in the south.
South Yorkshire Noggin - covers from the eastern side of the Pennines and the region north of Sheffield including the towns of Rotherham, Bawtry, Doncaster, Barnsley and Thorn.
East Yorkshire Noggin - covers from the east coast towns of Bridlington and Hornsea, Driffield in the Yorkshire Wolds across to Stamford Bridge, Howden and Goole in the west and Hull on the banks of the Humber.
West Yorkshire Noggin - Covers the great industrial towns of Keighley, Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield in the west across via Leeds and Wakefield to Wetherby, Pontefract and the A1(M) on it's eastern border.
York Central Noggin - although the smallest of our Noggin areas and based principally around the City York, out of convenience it does tend draw members from other Noggin areas as well.
If you are a member of the MSCC looking to join Yorkshire Centre, or just planning to visit the area and perhaps attend a Noggin or two, you'll find all the necessary contact details etc. in the Centre Reports Section of Miscellany.
We hope you find the above guide useful and if you need any further information feel free to contact the Centre Secretary.
